Every year Allen + Clarke donates hundreds of management consultancy services to community-focused organisation. Our Pro Bono Programme is part of our commitment to making a difference to our communities.
We partner with purpose-led organisations to help you make a bigger impact with the same resources. We provide governance support, policy and strategy development, service design, and whatever else you need. For us, it’s about contributing to social change, and using our ability as management consultants to improve people’s lives.
Assessing your organisational maturity and offering recommendations to help you take the next steps.
Developing operational procedures like privacy or finance policies to enable you to be more effective and improve your financial risk management.
Evaluating current or proposed services to better meet user needs.
Supporting you to demonstrate the return on investment from your services.
Getting input from staff and service users and conducting analysis to understand your key audience.
The Allen + Clarke Pro Bono Programme supports purpose-led, community focused organisations to deliver projects of all sizes and locations across Aotearoa. Each chosen applicant may receive up to 250 hours for their project, which could be used to support the completion of an entire, smaller project or provide pro bono time as part of a large project.
In previous years we have helped recipients tackle a huge range of projects, including; strengthening their operations, maximising funding, understanding industry best practices, assessing current policies and governance structures, preparing for change, and much more.
Previously, 1 in 10 applicants received some level of support as we try and share our expertise across a range of organisations, locations and projects, helping to maximise the impact made on communities.
Thanks to Allen + Clarke we are confident in the Policy we have and that it meets our obligations, our members needs and we can continue to support the communities we serve with best practice resources.
It has been a real privilege to do this work with you all, to have this suite of documents that are fit for purpose.
The experience of working with Allen + Clarke was a positive one. They were thoroughly professional, with excellent relationship management and delivered on time and to specifications.
Applications are open to everyone. All applications are assessed against the current year's criteria regardless of any previous support we may have provided. We have worked with some partners over multiple pro bono rounds, but it would depend on the nature of the project and how it met the criteria.
The application process asks you to describe the services or issues you are seeking help with. Once we short-list applicants, we have a conversation to get more information about your work and how we could best help you with the time available.
We have helped organisations in the past with writing position papers and submission responses to help you advocate for your position on an issue.
We acknowledge that many NGOs rely on volunteers and that they bring a really important perspective to the work. Our team have a long history of working with volunteers, and can be flexible to meet those needs such as offering flexible scheduling and scalable plans that account for volunteer capacity. We work to build the capacity of your volunteers, leaving your organisation stronger after our direct support concludes.
We can evaluate current services and suggest improvements or design new services to meet user needs. We have staff trained in human centred design thinking who can help you to reimagine your services to ensure they deliver maximum values to the people you serve.
