Ned believes that creating meaningful change comes from bringing local knowledge and experience together with thinking about the systems that led to these experiences. As a senior consultant, he applies qualitative research methods to help organisations understand what works, how and why, and how to transform this understanding into strengthening impact.

His evaluation work has shaped major initiatives from climate change adaptation to primary healthcare delivery across Aotearoa, Australia and the Pacific. Equity and values, or ‘what matters’, is central to his practice. His methodical yet adventurous spirit drives both his professional work and his passion for the outdoors and exploring new places.
